Kim Castellino

Managing Director

Kim advises public companies on shareholder proposals, shareholder and proxy advisor engagement, executive compensation, and ESG matters. His work with SGA clients leverages expertise developed over a decade as an executive at ISS, the world’s most influential proxy advisor, where he led the US Research team, was a member of the Global Policy Board, and implemented ISS’s executive compensation analyses.

At SGA, he helps clients design and execute engagement campaigns to win shareholder support for Board policies and proposals, and align Board communications – especially in the proxy statement and ESG reports – with the voting guidelines of the proxy advisors and governance-focused investors. Among his clients are Eli Lilly, Fox Corp, Disney, Exxon, Ameriprise Financial, MetLife, Goodyear, Moderna, Ericsson, Intel, Ingersoll Rand, Stanley Black & Decker, Huntsman, Jackson National, Regeneron, Herbalife, Wendy’s, and Bank of New York. He also advises companies on trends in institutional investor voting and expectations, particularly around emerging governance, compensation, and ESG topics.

Prior to joining SGA, Kim led ISS’ US Research team, which covers uncontested meetings of all US-listed public companies, and led development of ISS’s Say-on-Pay analysis, the Corporate Governance assessments which begin each ISS report, and the analytic framework for ISS’s Equity Plan Score Card. He has an MS in Finance from Loyola University, Baltimore, an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow, and a BS from Mumbai University.
